1983
I worked at the Banff Springs in various capacities, chamber maid,
Alberta dining room, and The Works. I arrived in 1983 and left for
expo'86, and came back till '87.
I had several interesting experiences at the Hotel. I'm looking
forward to your web page. Let me know if I can help.

Simon Harris, Summer 1983. Housekeeping.
I spent the summer of 83 working in
Housekeeping at The Banff Springs on a Student Exchange programme from
England. My first impressions when I walked into the upper annex after
flying in from the UK was " what have I let myself in for here!" I
few days later and having got over the jet lag I settled in and spent
the summer working as a Houseman and made some really good friends, many
of whom I am still in touch with today. The highlight of the summer was the
North American Oilman's Convention which was held at the hotel. I was one
of three English people at the Springs that summer and I know we all had
a great time.
I have been back to the Springs a few
times since, the last being when I was in Calgary on business earlier this
year which bought the memories flooding back
If anyone remembers me, Simon (
the tall guy from England who damaged his knee!!!), Susan or Elizabeth ( the
two chambermaids from Liverpool) drop me a line at simonharris300@hotmail.com
